Since this time he has been faithful to all the interests of his church as far as able and for years he was an official in the church. Brother Roberts has been in failing health for the past ten years, but was able to be about most of the time, altho at times worse than others. On last Wednesday at four in the afternoon he took a chill and grew worse rapidly and slipped peacefully away Friday, January 5, at 11:30 p.m. being 75 years, 6 months and 4 days old. When sinks a weary soul to rest,
How mildly beams the closing eyes,
How gently heaves the expiring breast,
Life's labor done, as sinks the clay,
Light from its load the spirit flies,
While heaven and earth combine to say,
How blest the righteous when they die.Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist church at Cantril Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in the Hoskin cemetery.
