This Index is from a book compiled from original Birth Registers kept by Dr. H. G. Parker of Douglas, Garfield County, OK as required by law beginning in 1918. There are over 1200 home births recorded in these Registers. They have been extracted as is, with a few corrections verified by primary resource records. The original registers were donated to the Garfield County Genealogists, Inc. by the heirs of Dr. Parker.The surname is listed in Caps and the numbers are the page number in the book where the record is found.Some of the information in these records are date, time and location of birth, names and place of birth of the parents, number of children born to the mother and the attending physician. The Garfield County Genealogists, Inc. will furnish this info on request for a small fee. The majority of these records are for births in the towns and surrounding rural areas of Fairmont, Douglas, Covington, Marshall, and Waukomis communities. The townships primarily involved, but not limited to, are Otter, Reed, Marshall, Patterson, Hackberry, Logan, Skeleton, Patterson, Lincoln and Flynn. This area is located in the southeastern portion of Garfield County. The original records are the property of the Garfield County Genealogists, Inc.
