Served WW I, Enlisted in 1st Oklahoma Infantry Div., Ft. Sill, OK then 1st Lieut. Platoon Leader, K Co.144th Inf Regt., 36th Inf. Div. in France 1917 to 1919.
From 1922 to 1940 served in the Oklahoma National Guard.
Recalled as Col., C.O. 189th Field Artillery Regiment, 45th Infantry Division 1940, Subsequently served as Instructor and advisor to 3rd Chinese Army out of Kunming, China on Gen."Vinegar Joe" Stillwell's Staff. Wounded 7 times in the Ledo Road area in 1943. Awarded the Purple Heart and Silver Star for Bravery in Action. Medically retired in 1946.
