Located next to the railroad tracks in downtown Enid, the "Simpson's Old Time Museum" is a combination of a museum of Enid history, and a movie studio for Western movies. Housed in a large brick building that was originally built as Long Bell Lumber Company, and later became well-known as Simpson's Mercantile, the museum has a variety of pictures and artifacts dealing with early-day Enid. There are several different filming sets within the large building which can be seen by visitors. The Simpson brothers, Rick and Larry, are actors and producers of a series of popular Western movies. When not making movies, they are involved in many other activities, including historical re-enactments with the Chisholm Trail Coalition's Downtown Historical Walking Tour, and giving entertaining tours of their own "Old Time Museum"! |
