This Gibson Line begins in North Carolina, from there to Tennessee, to Illinois, to Missouri, to Arkansas and Oklahoma.

Robert Gibson, born abt 1794, probably in NC, married Martha Belton 10 Mar 1810, probably in NC. She was born abt 1793, daughter of James Belton of Rockingham County, NC. Robert died 4 Apr 1877 and Martha died 23 Jan 1869. Robert married (2) Martha Bays 25 May 1869 in Washington Co, MO. She was born 1793 in NC and died 17 May 1873. Robert served in the War of 1812. They were living at Waltons Mill, Washington County, Missouri, when he applied for his pension. Their burial location is unknown.

The family moved to TN in the mid 1820's then to IL and were in MO by 1838. Robert, Sr. served in the War of 1812 with Champ, Pleasant & Stephen Gibson and James Belton.
