MILDRED ELLEN WOLLAM and ARCHIE LYNN MESSEC
Mildred Ellen Wollam, daughter of Alva Johnson and Maude Wollam, was born June
18, 1929 in Freeport, Brazoria County, Texas. Mildred graduated from Danbury
High School in 1947, went to business school for a year and worked at Dow
Chemical Co. in Freeport, Texas. Mildred married Archie Lynn Messec March 5,
1955 in Danbury, Texas and made their home in Angleton, Texas.Archie graduated from Angleton High School in 1945, attended Sam Houston State
University in 1945-46, and served in the Air Force from July 1946 to June
1949. He returned to school at the University of Houston. Mildred and Archie
moved to Danbury, Texas to help Mildred's mother run the lumber yard for a
time, then Archie went to work for Dow Chemical Co. in Freeport, Texas. He is
now a crew leader in the Plastic Lined Pipe Shop and plans to retire in August,
1993. Mildred went to work at the School in 1969, the bank in 1973 and the
United Way in 1982. Mildred retired in October 1992. They built a home in
Danbury and continue to live there at this time.Mildred and Archie have two children. Mark Alan Messec was born March 4, 1956
in Angleton, Texas. Terri Lynn Messec was born July 3, 1959 in Angleton,
Texas.

RUTH LOUISE WOLLAM and THOMAS LEROY HUDGINSRuth Wollam was born at Danbury, Brazoria County, Texas, December 19, 1930 to
Alva and Maude Wollam at their home place on Avenue F. She completed the
required twelve years of school in the Danbury School System and then completed
Business School in Houston. After finishing business school she went to work
for Freeport Sulphur Company at Hoskins Mound, Texas.Ruth married Thomas Leroy Hudgins on June 17, 1950, in the First Baptist Church
in Danbury, Texas. They made their home in Danbury. Thomas was know as Tommy
since his Dad was know as Tom. Tommy was born March 31, 1927 to Thomas Longer
and Joshephine Hudgins. Both Tommy's and Ruth's parents worked together and
knew each other before either of the couples married. Tommy attended school in
Danbury for eleven years and moved to Pender, Nebraska to work on the Nels
Frederickson farm during part of World War II. After graduating from Pender
High School, he joined the Navy and served on a aircraft carrier in the Pacific
Ocean. After his discharge from the Navy, he returned to Nebraska and the
farm, but, later returned to Texas and enrolled in the University of Houston in
Houston, Texas. Not long before he and Ruth were married, Tommy was employed
by Phillips Petroleum Company in the drilling tools division in the Chocolate
Bayou Field.Ruth and Tommy have three children, Cheryl Kay born July 15, 1952; Janet Gay
born April 15, 1955; and Tomas Leroy, Jr. born September 23, 1957. All three
children were born at the Angleton Clinic in Angleton, Texas.Tommy was transferred to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in August 1961 and that was
the first of many transfers. Tommy, Ruth, and family lived in Spartanburg,
South Carolina; Bartlesville, Oklahoma; London, England; Singapore; Houston,
Texas; Mt. Pleasant, Texas; and back to Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Tommy retired
from Phillips Petroleum Company in August of 1985 and in 1989 they built their
retirement home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

ROY JOHNSON WOLLAM and BOBBYE JEAN KERLEY
Roy Johnson Wollam, the son of Ora and Louise Wollam was born December 14, 1927
in Danbury, Texas. The family lived in a house on the corner of Ave F and 1st
St. across the street from the school building.Roy graduated from Danbury high school in May 1946. He attended the University
of Houston and received his bachelors degree June 1950. Roy married Bobbye
Jean Kerley September 1, 1950 in Freeport Texas where they lived until August
1953.He went into the U. S. Army November 4, 1950. After basic training in
California he was assigned to the 40th Infantry Division. The division was
moved to Japan in March 1951 and into Korea February 1952. He returned to the
states and was released October 26, 1952.After working at Dow Chemical for a few months Roy and Bobbye moved to Arcadia,
Galveson Co., Texas as he began teaching and coaching Aug. 1953 at the Santa Fe
ISD. The townsite of Arcadia was later incorporated as the City of Santa Fe.Roy received a Masters of Education Degree August 1956. He became
superintendent of the Santa Fe ISD in June 1966 and remained in that position
until retirement December 1989. Learning and working with computers and
programs is now a hobby. He also serves as a lay minister of administration at
the First Baptist Church of Alta Loma in Santa Fe, Texas.Bobbye Jean Kerley was born October 26, 1927 in Carter Co. Oklahoma. Her family
moved to Danbury Texas in 1943. She and her mother moved to Freeport in 1945
where she completed the last two years of high school. Bobbye was secretary for
the city of Freeport until the family moved to Arcadia in 1953.Roy and Bobbye had two sons, Michael Jay born Sept. 3, 1953 and Timothy Ray

As the calendar of time moves on and a person begins to notice more years
behind him than ahead of him, he begins to gather his thoughts about the
family. He realizes there is very little of life that he can recall.The accumulation of this information is an opportunity for each member of the
growing family of Alfred Lincoln and Emma Louisa Wollam to ponder the past and
call to memory the good things that come from being a part of this family.
Every grandchild has been asked to be a very important part of this endeavor
and to provide a part of themselves and their memories of their grandparents
and parents.As I tried to recall the past I wished that someone before me had gathered
information from members of the family while they were still here with us. My
hope for the future generations is that they too will have a desire to know
about their family and that this information will be available to them. Since
what is today will be in the past tomorrow, I also hope for someone who will
continue to gather and publish information about our families for future
generations.I especially thank Pauline Wollam Bell who has gathered most of the ancestral
information from her studies and from information sent to her by others who
were also searching for the facts about our ancestors. There are some
conflicts. Names are spelled differently and some dates and places are
difficult to determine.
